Why Pet Dentistry Is Important
If you have ever had a toothache, you know that it isn’t something you would want your pet to suffer from. Unfortunately, without proper dental care, pets can suffer from problems ranging from minor discomfort and pain to systemic disease and death.
Pets who do not receive appropriate dental care are likely to suffer from dental or periodontal disease within the first few years of their life. When these issues are left untreated, they can cause pain, changes in appetite, and behavioral changes. They can even allow harmful bacteria to enter the bloodstream and travel to other parts of the body, potentially causing heart, liver, or kidney disease.
